Medical Director
Dr. Sudha Komma received her veterinary degree from Tufts University. She earned a Masters in Public Health from Boston University and Masters of Veterinary Science in Microbiology from ANGRAU. Dr. Komma has practiced general veterinary medicine for about 15 years. High quality care and affordable veterinary medical and surgical services has always been her strong professional commitment.
Dr. Komma is a general practitioner with professional interests in preventive care, surgery, internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry and exotic medicine. She is also interested in holistic medicine, herbal medicine and acupuncture therapy. She has also developed a special interest in addressing the special needs of senior pets.
Quality care and affordable veterinary services have always been Dr. Komma’s strong professional commitments. She is extremely excited to lead the LRVC team in providing an exceptional service to the pets and people of Hudson and the surrounding towns.
In her free time, she enjoys playing chess, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and pets. She has lived in NH for the past fifteen years. Dr. Komma and her husband Suren have two children Manu and Sai, and a Bernese Mt Dog named Nova.
Veterinarian
Dr. Alison Borek joined our team in August 2020. She attended TUFTS for veterinary school, graduating in 2013. She started out working in a mixed animal practice for 5 years before switching to small animal medicine.
Her passion is practicing fear free medicine, as a Certified Fear Free Professional and always strives to keep her patient visits as fun and low stress as possible. She enjoys seeing all the dogs, cats and small mammals! Her areas of interest include preventive medicine, internal medicine and dentistry.
At home, Dr. Borek enjoys spending time with her family, including 2 young children. She is an avid horseback rider and her furry friends include a horse, a dog and 2 cats. In her spare time she enjoys traveling!
Veterinarian
Dr. Megan Thibodeau joined our team in December 2020. She studied Natural Science at Saint Anselm College and graduated in 2011 before attending the University of Minnesota for veterinary school, graduating in 2015.
Her passion is practicing medicine that integrates conventional modalities as well as acupuncture, herbal medicine, and chiropractic care. She is available for integrative medicine and traditional appointments.
At home, Dr. Thibodeau has an angry mob of Shelties – Tuukka, Tiffany, Tempo and Tiana – and Collies Kaleigh, Flora, and Nathan. She enjoys crocheting, gardening, and squirrel watching in her spare time.
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr. Powers is our MOVES veterinary surgery partner in the NH/MA region. She is available to perform advanced orthopedic and soft-tissue surgeries at Bedford Veterinary Medical Center.
Dr. Powers earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 1999, then spent the next several years completing multiple internships and conducting research as the PennHIP post-doctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her surgical residency and also served on the faculty at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and earned board certification from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) in 2008.
In 2014, she earned board certification from the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (ACVSMR). She is also certified as a canine rehabilitation therapist (CCRT). Dr. Powers has a particular interest in orthopedics and soft tissue surgeries, including oncologic, cardio-thoracic, and reconstructive procedures.
In her free time, Mich enjoys spending time hiking, kayaking, and participating in agility courses with her dogs, Chibi, Fuji, and Taro.
DVM
Dr. Maddelene Herr joined our team in August, 2022. Originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from Millersville University. She then went on to veterinary school at Ross University and completed her clinical studies at Tufts University, where she decided New England would be her new home!
Dr. Herr spent the first part of her career at a busy 24/7 small animal emergency hospital where she gained experience managing challenging medicine cases; now she prefers a general practice setting where she can get to know her patients and clients individually and work with their own unique needs.
At home, Dr. Herr enjoys reading, baking, gardening and getting bossed around by her small, yet mouthy, cat. She and her husband love traveling and are always looking for a new food adventure!
Ari joined our team back in June of 2021 as part of our kennel staff. She has accomplished many career goals since then! As a recent graduate from Great Bay Community college, she now has an associate degree in veterinary science and will sit for her VTNE in late July. After passing the test will become a CVT. Ari grew up in the country and loves all things animal. From a young age Ari has had a passion for horses and even owns three of her own! But that’s not all, her farm is not complete without her three dogs, two cats, her horses, and even Larry, her leopard gecko! Ari is known for being very diverse in our practice from working reception, to working out in the clinic, or even surgery, there is nothing she isn’t willing to do! If you see her walking around the clinic, feel free to say hi as she is always okay with some friendly conversation!
Mackenzie is an office manager who has been working in the Veterinary field since 2017 and joined BVMC in 2019. With over ten years of experience as an advocate and volunteer for animal rescue she has become passionate about veterinary medicine and has experience in both emergency services as well as general practice. Mackenzie specializes in empathetic client and patient care, social media and marketing and is a Fear Free Certified Veterinary Professional. She resides in southern NH and enjoys the outdoors, hiking, photography, scrapbooking, and spending time with her two cats, Logan and Tiny, her dog, Sam and her significant other Mike.
Shayla joined our team at Bedford Veterinary Medical Center in the fall of 2020. Today, Shayla is a valued member of our Urgent Care veterinary support staff with over 10 years of experience. Shayla had previously worked as a large animal and equine technician before joining our team. From a young age, she had a passion for animals and she knew she wanted a career in veterinary medicine. Shayla is a talented veterinary technician, and she enjoys all aspects of her job taking care of sick or injured patients. She enjoys educating clients and providing top notch care for your fur babies! Shayla lives in Weare, NH with her boyfriend, Josh and her beloved pets. She is the owner of her own pet sitting business, which keeps her very busy! Although she has a busy schedule, on her days off you can find Shayla walking dogs, spending time with her kitten Mojito, riding her horse Junie or hiking with her dog Moose.
